hearts-desire

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown. – H. P. Lovecraftis

Are you following your heart’s desire or does fear stop you?

The title for this post came to me in a meditation last week and then as if the universe was in sync, I discovered as I made my tour around the blogosphere,  as I opened my email and then on Facebook others were writing about the same topics- Desires, Dreams and FEAR

How many of you get stopped by FEAR? I know I do!

Is Fear an Illusion?

Robin Easton says:The monster called “Fear” has a seemingly very “reasonable” way of tricking us back into our complacency, our inactivity, and even our deadness. However, I’ve found that fear is more often than not an illusion.”

FEAR so often stops us living our dreams, yet when we take that one courageous step forward new ways of being spring forth. It is then we can shine our light and live our dream, our heart’s desire and be the hero or heroine in our own life. I know so often I get stopped by fear of the dreaded what if syndrome. Yet we probably have all seen the acronym  for fear False Evidence Appearing Real and this is what I so often forget. It’s not real it what we think, we just don’t know. this can have us playing small as well as missing I believe much joy not to mention golden opportunities that will pass by.

When we can tap into out heart’s desires and step into our dreams we wake up and begin to shine our light and miracles can happen. We will then experience more feelings of joy and abundance not to mention those of love and empowerment.

How do we overcome our fears? How do we remain fearless?

On my journey around my favorite blogs I discovered a wonderful resource from Tess at The Bold Life :  75 Ways to remain fearless. Just a few if these ways will move you forward. One of my  favorites is no 48: Radiate abundance. Prosperity is a knowing. Think abundant thoughts, make abundant choices, be an abundant person. I know that when you live in and from abundance the way you see yourself and the world will change in a positive way

We need to take action to move out of out fear as  Kathleen Gage said in the email I opened that morning “Oprah didn’t happen upon her success. Nope. She failed a bunch of times and had to deal with the fears that haunted her. She got it wrong long before she got it right. Many people don’t realize that Oprah’s first television debut was a complete failure, but that didn’t hold her back. She rose above seemingly insurmountable odds (and lots of getting it wrong) to become one of the most influential women in history”

Today I feel like I am starting out on a new journey to move out of my comfort zone and shine my light. The past 14 months I have been able to hide behind my illness and my fractures and  really putting myself out there again takes courage and I am listening closely to my heart’s desire, my heart whispers and following my intuition. It feels good and I am happy to be moving forward fearlessly.

Fear is not you enemy it is your compass pointing you to areas you need to grow– Steve Pavlina

Will you take a step forward towards your heart’s desire today?

  1. Great post Suzie! We are definitely speaking the same language. The language of the heart and one that is meant to help people in their journey. When we get past our fears, we discover such beautiful possibilities and opportunity.

    Great share!

  2. I think all the steps of our journeys towards business success or any goal involve an element of fear, be it getting over a hurdle, a limiting belief, fear of what’s next, failing or succeeding – and we should have admiration for ourselves and others we see achieving each little nudge to our comfort zones. there are personal development, practical and technical issues to all of our business, not to mention our daily family distractions and I think we should all celebrate we are on our paths and moving! Squash each fear one by one, some take more time – but, like Oprah – don’t give up
this is how I like to think – or fear can be overwhelming
    loved your post Suzie 🙂

    1. Hi Jacs
Thanks and thank you for visiting- yes celebrating our little wins is so important in overcoming fear. When we take that first step we are on our way to overcoming fear. ♡

  3. This is my first visit to your blog, so I first have to compliment you on your beautiful headline banner! I write a lot about change, and you are so right about the affect fear can have on virtually ever aspect of our lives. Truly the only way to overcome fear is to take action – small steps to get and keep moving in the right direction. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Hi Marty,
Great to meet you- I love your blog so inviting. I see we have much in common and yes taking small steps is the secret to moving forward and making the changes that will empower you. look forward to reading more of your inspiration too. ♡ PS do you know Marci from Maui?

  4. Dear Suzie, I had to stop in and tell you how POWERFUL this post is. I shared it with a close friend who has lived with a lot of fear for some time, and is now bravely choosing to move toward and face their fears. This person loved the post as much as I did and said it really helped them. I LOVE this line of yours: “…when we take that one courageous step forward new ways of being spring forth…” You offer SUCH hope in that truth. I have found that when we DO take that first step that it actually SHIFTS the energy in the Universe and all the Beings, Angels, Guides, and LIFE itself spring forward to help us. Life WANTS us to be FREE. It is our natural state of being. Life WANTS us to be joyful and to live and BECOME our dreams. So yes, it DOES spring forward to help us, and new ways of being, feeling, seeing, and experiencing the world become available to us. Often when we look back we wonder why we didn’t take that first step sooner. I also have found that something I fear more than Fear itself, is regrets. I don’t want to live with regrets, so I always move toward my fear. I have to, just so that I can live with myself, and not be defined by fear (not limited by fear). Thank you dear beautiful soul for all you share, and all the vitality and hope you instill into the world. You are amazing, Suzie. Much love and gratitude, Robin

    1. Dear Robin,
You have opened my heart even wider I love that what I write helps others and thanks for sharing this with a friend.. My heart is singing.
Yes life does want us to be FREE and I sometimes forget that and that is when fear sets in. I am doing something today- launching my online studio sale that I have been putting off for the past 3 months or more. This for me is moving out of my comfort zone as i am about to ask my friends to help me get the word out. Regrets yes- why do I hold myself back. I then read what you have written and that really lifts my spirit. and open my heart to love.
with love and in gratitude Suzie xxoo PS I am looking forward to catching up with you and sharing my latest wellness path.

  5. Suzie,
I loved this post. Lately I’ve been getting hit with waves of fear and anxiety. When that happens I have to stop and take a deep breath and try to find out where the fear is coming from. Usually it’s the same thing….patterns I thought I had mastered from the past.
We all need to face our fears until we can outgrow them.
Thanks for this lovely post. it’s encouraging to know we are not alone in experiencing this.
    xoxo,
    Angela

  6. Great article!

I personally don’t use the word courage …. because for me – courage means there really is/was something to fear. And … I have learned the fear comes from not being totally aware.

When I become aware that the fear is based on old stories, old beliefs, I have gathered along the way. When I am able to step back and realize that … None of this is even real – I am just re-acting from some old beliefs systems I have gathered…. Ahhhh then I don’t need courage because I have realized this is just a bogey-man …

I just need to continually remind myself of this … and align with the new stories that I want in my life.

    Big Hugs <3

    1. Hi Ellie

Such wisdom I will now look at courage in a new light. I do see being bold as having courage and I get what you are saying that fear is cased on old stories as well as what we don’t know.

I know that by aligning with the new stories we can push through the fear. I am doing that right now and it also creates feeling of joy:)

      Love and hugs

      PS
I looked up Wikipedia and it says:

Courage (is referred as bravery, boldness, fearlessness, mettle, fortitude, or intrepidity) is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. “Physical courage” is courage in the face of physical pain, hardship, death, or threat of death, while “moral courage” is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame, scandal, or discouragement.

  7. Hey Suzie…

Such a wonderful post, and as you know, so very near and dear to my heart!

You are so very right…it takes courage to get out of your comfort zone, and although it may not be comfortable at first, it is where true growth takes place!

You are an amazing gift and inspiration to everyone you come in contact with. Your light shines brighter every day!

Love and hugs to you…keep listening to those whispers of the heart. That is where your true calling lies.

    1. Yes Dana, it does take courage to step outside of your comfort zone especially if you have been hiding too 🙂

I am listening to my heart whispers yes I know the answer is within

thank you for making my heart sing
      Love and hugs

  8. Hi Suzie, This is a beautiful article and so well written. I love that you are reminding us of fear today because even if we try to ignore our fears…they act against us and do damage without us knowing it. The key is as you said to become aware of them and know that they do not exist. We do create them and tend to give them power but that is illusion as you say. Loved the reminder…Great share!
    ~ Nathalie

    1. Thank you Nathalie, I am so happy you dropped by and shared your thoughts on fear- yes we forget how damaging they can be as you say without knowing.. I am just getting back into blogging and your praise is so welcome

      all my love
      Suzie

  9. Great article Suzie! I have experienced the destructive power of fear when I felt so terrified that I couldn’t eat for 3 days or think properly.
Agree with you that we need to live from the abundance.

You know, “What ifs?” – are great when you use them to doubt your fears, when you challenge the beliefs that stop you from taking action.

When you ask yourself – What if I am good enough? What if I am good at it?
Every time when you start doubt yourself ask what if …

    1. Thanks Inga,
Wow I remember times too of destructive behaviour that came from fear. Interesting the what if– Last week a mentor told me to get rid of IFs from my life. I have a verse in my poem Emergings that talk about what if this or maybe that and for me it resembles procrastination. I do understand where you are coming from and you make a great point.
