be-you

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” –Dr. Seuss

What a surprise starting with Be You. I was planning to start with an A word and move through the alphabet I even have a whole range of words listed and  four words beginning with A that were to kick off these BEach Inspirations. Be-Words-list

Yesterday afternoon I was getting bogged down in the technicalities of my blog and my body wasn’t happy.

I read a post from my friend Zeenat 15 Positive Tips to Be Happy right NOW! that lifted my spirits and I decided to go to my happy place the beach. What a delight! I usually go to the beach in the morning for a walk, swim and to get my daily vitamin D hit that I need for my bones. I could see as we were driving there that the sky looked so inviting and I love watching a sunset.  This one was spectacular, and I took lots of pictures. The reflection of the setting sun on the water and the gulls added to the magic.

I had my beach pen with me so if the waves were breaking well I could write some words for this inspiration series. The waves were good and I immediately wrote be you in the sand, it took several tries to get the perfect image.

So why Be You? As I mentioned earlier my body was not feeling happy, I knew deep down what I was doing was not feeding my soul and I know that when :

These actions and in actions I know have me doubting myself, feeling I am not enough- How about you?   I know I am not doing the things that will empower me, move me forward and bring in the Moola! Not to mention make my heart sing and have me in alignment with the true me

So in Being You we are brought back to:

Add your ideas in the comments.  And as Dr Seuss says:

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

Being you brings you to being present in all that you do, you become focused on what you really want in and for your life, you let go of the need to compare yourself to others- this does stop you….So what steps will you take to day to just be you, to nurture you, to accept you as you are? These were the words I wrote in my journal to myself this morning.

Today Be You and Love You!

All my love
Namaste,

  1. Great advice. I started to do a few of the things you mentioned just recently. If I find myself getting negative or bogged down I immediately start to be grateful for everything around me. I usually start my day being thankful for everything while I am in the shower. Being thankful for running water, thankful that it is warm, soap, shampoo, etc. Then expanding out from there to feeling thankful for friends, family, health and so on. Then I head out for the day asking myself how I can help make someone else’s day better or how I can help someone else out in some way. It really has had a very large positive effect on not only my mood, but once you are more positive everything else just seems to flow so much better as well.

I’m also a huge fan of the beach, it is my favorite place to be. I’m typing this from the balcony of our rental condo with the sunshine on my face, watching the waves crash on the beach right now. Great way to start the day!

    Thanks for posting!

  2. All too often I am just as guilty about getting caught up in things that don’t matter. Its so nice to know that that is something so many of us need to remind ourselves of.

And I love your “beach pen” Its so wonderful to know that your photos are ones you have created yourself. That has a very powerful feel to it.

    Thank you Suzie

    1. Hi Kate
Welcome, I read your opening words and yes guilty, I just got caught up something that really does not matter as i was replying to my comments. I love you comment about having the powerful feel- thank you

  3. Inspirational as always Suzie! I think even the most “enlightened” of us falter from time to time. I’ve always been a hard-core Type A personality – when I worked for other people that left me stressed and always on the verge of burn out. Now that I’m doing work that I love, I still have to work at creating some balance, but it’s actually more difficult to do because I enjoy the work so much!

    1. Yes Marquita,
Thank you, I was very inspired that day:) Yes that shift to doing what you love comes with it’s own challenges especially as you say creating the balance. A better way be be than the previous stress.

  4. Suzie – This is great! We need to just be ourselves and have that be enough. When we try to do what others think we need to do without understanding how those things match up to ourselves and our own purpose, we get “thrown off” and it just doesn’t feel good. Thanks for the reminder!

    1. My pleasure Carol, sometimes being ourselves is the challenge because we have been spending so much time looking outside and thinking we are not enough 🙂

  5. What a great message and a great reminder. It is so easy to get caught up in the to-do list of all the things I should be doing. Making a list of what I already “Be” is much more rewarding and mysteriously productive because it puts me in the state of mind of completion and wholeness. I love it!

  6. Couldn’t agree with you more Suzie on the truth of BEing YOU! I love your BEach Inspirations theme. This is going to be inspiring and I can’t wait to read more. I love your energy!

  7. I am as guilty too! Thanks for this reminder. I’ve been too busy being busy that I think I’ve kinda lost my way. Time for me to stop, take out my inner compass & move forward on the right path.

  8. Interesting synchronicity as I am writing a book on the BE theme 🙂 We have so much in common 🙂

  9. What a great post! thank you for sharing and the visuals of you thought process. LOVE the beach and the BE!
Since my children were little i would always remind them of their Bs
    Be good
    Be careful
    Be smart
    Be kind
    BEhave
😉 i would add more as needed.
    I truly enjoyed your post!
