Create A Rush of Love

I Love You, I Really Love You…….

How often do you say those words to yourself? How often do you stand in front of the mirror and said I love you ( your Name). I really love you……. How does that make you feel?

I started many years ago when I first read You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. I stood in front of the mirror and said: I love and accept you. It is a practice I have stopped and started over the years.

This week I have started to do again each morning when I wake up and before I head to my studio to paint.

It makes me come alive, like my cells stat to dance and I have a big smile on my face. My body feels loved.

I notice a difference in my vibes the mornings I do this. It start my day on a high. When I forget or something takes me away from my daily routine my day does not go nearly as well. My heart isn’t singing or smiling.

I asked this question on Monday on my facebook page and I got a variety of responses: Some people felt loved and beautiful, others connected……

Here are a a few of the responses.

Debra Oakland Yes! I always do because it makes me feel connected to every aspect of my body, mind and spirit.

Dina LoRusso Overland Yes! I love this exercise…must do it more often. Thanks for the reminder!

Deb Ramski Coman Made me smile!

Kellie R. Stone Reminds that I’m always on my side.

Shann VanderLeek I like to look in the mirror first thing and say, Hello Gorgeous! Cracks me up and makes me feel good.

Debra Reble Thank you or reminding me to say it to myself too! I made loving choices for myself today…

Chara Armon Great reminder, Suzie. Feels weird at first, then becomes a bit more comfortable, right?

Rachel Kieffer Feels really good! If only I can remember to do it all the time, need to post it on my mirror!’

Terri Dean I didn’t but I am heading that way right now!

Do you say I love you in front of a mirror each day?

I would love to hear if this is a natural process for you and how it makes you feel.

with love and gratitude

  1. Very inspiring article! I have to admit that I am addicted to affirmations and anything related to it, it’s one of my my deepest passions!

As for the mirror technique, it’s definitely one of the best! I use it everyday right after waking up and before going to bed.

And yeah, you made an excellent choice with that quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson at the beginning. He’s one of my favorite philosophers…

    Thanks for the excellent insights!

  2. I recently started affirmations in the morning around my business but never thought of telling myself that I loved me. From your Facebook responses sounds like a great practice. Anything that brings a smile in the morning – especially adding “Hello gorgeous” – has to be a fabulous way to start the day. I’m heading to the mirror right now!

  3. Your beautiful art just gets better and better Suzie! This is truly an inspirational message and best of all a practice that anyone can (and) should follow each day. Thank you for all that you do to inspire love and self appreciation!

    1. Hi Marty,
Thank you, what magic to read first thing this morning.
I think painting each day as part of my own self-love is inspiring me more.
I am going to start sharing them more too.
Your words touch my heart xxx

  4. Hi there, Louise Hay’s you can heal your life was the first book I ever read on personal development and I read it, read it again, did the excercises, wrote diaries full, read it again… I loved it. And this excercise is indeed a very powerful one. I love it!

    Thx

    Linda

    1. Hi Linda,
Yes after Shakti Gawain’s Creative Visualisation, Louise’s book was my next book, the first copy fell apart!
That is wonderful that you have kept doing it….. xx

  5. I don’t do this enough! I have done it in the past and it really is a great practice — I don’t know why I got away from it — but thanks for the reminder to add it back into my routine.

  6. I write a blog on happiness, but this thought never occurred to me. Sounds very liberating. I liked one of your Facebook comments about saying hello gorgeous to the mirror every morning. Since my last name is Gorges (pronounced like the word) I LOL when I read that. Giving your suggestion a try, Suzie. Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. I learned this practice of self-blessing to be done naked, in front of a full-length mirror. I don’t think I’ve done it once since getting so sick last year. And my heart is full of yearning to begin again. Thanks for the loving push.

  8. Hmmm… seems that this practice of yours shines through the painting. As I’m starting to get familiar with your online space I am drawn to your art. It’s lovely. 🙂

  9. Suzie, I am going to start doing this regularly. I do it every now and again. And it feels really good. But I think doing it every day would be very powerful! So I am setting the intention now to do so.

  10. I too used to do this practice all the time but got away from it. Thank you Suzie for reminding to do it every time I look in the mirror as it is a powerful mantra for self-love. Blessings
