Relationships (all relationships) will be tweaked or even let go of. But, again, the most important relationship we have is the one with our self. How are we being asked to step forward? How are we being challenged this week. Look at what triggers you and learn if you could react a new way. Look where you can be your own authority but in a new way. – Louise Edington

crescentRI read these words in Louise’s Cosmic Transition Report this week. The new moon today or tomorrow depending where you are in the world is on 4th/5th October.  I decided after sharing in Be Shining:  my full moon ritual and reading the words look at what triggers you that I have been addressing in the EFT course I am currently taking, that I would share what I will be doing to move forward with the energy of this new moon.

The new moon is a time for renewal, setting goals, (I prefer to use the word intention ) planting seeds and for reflection. A time of cleansing, releasing and new beginnings.  Time to step up and even shine. Do what you are here to do. 🙂

Setting goals has not been one of my favorite activities. This week I got out my planner  and felt a resistance to actually scheduling that was very strong, So I put it away. Not a good look as I found myself then in the wonderful state of overwhelm! Then in comes my friend procrastination. All in all not a good look or feel. A good time to manifest a healthier relationship with self!

What To Do?

To move out of my overwhelm I started today with meditation and painting, a new moon painting. I allowed what was within to emerge onto the paper. Initially I imaged that I would paint a fine sliver of white for the moon- intuition had other ideas. I painted this in 2 stages, the first one horizontally with the white and gold. later in the day I turned the painting vertically and what you see below was the end result. When I look at it now I can see what is below as some of the overwhelm I have experienced this last month and one of my intentions for the next month is to let go of the fears I have that stop me and put in place intentions that will delight me. Tomorrow I will use my new moon ritual to plan my month from one new moon to the next.

New-moon-october-5

New moon ritual: I started doing this in October last year after reading around the web.

Creating Intentions ~ Create your list on the day of the New Moon and place your list on your altar or in a private place. Review your list each morning and evening to keep your intentions conscious, It is best to list at least 2 intentions-no more than 10 ( maybe 6 is enough), any more can dilute the energy and set you up for overwhelm. Start each intention with the words I create: eg: I create space for the new to flow into all areas of my life by releasing the old and unwanted.

  New Moon Abundance Check :

abundance check
Check from Our Awareness Centre
  1. Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a check and where it says “Pay to,” write your name.
  2. In the $ box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar amount write “Paid in full.”
  3. On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a dollar amount, write “Paid in full.”
  4. Sign the check: Thank You Thank You Thank You or Law of Abundance
  5. Place the check on your altar or put it in a special place and prepare to receive!

New Moon Meditation:   On the night of the new I go outside and light a candle, take my list of intentions and visualize my intentions.  I am open to any messages or feelings that I receive. Then I might then journal before I go to sleep

Make a vision / dream board of your intentions. I haven’t done this for a while so I will make a new one probably in keynote although you can do this with magazines and make it a fun creative process. then use this as part of you daily manifesting process.

Please share if you have any special rituals you do on the new moon?

  1. Hi Suzie, I really like the way you’ve substituted intention for the word goal. That feels really good. That’s odd for me — I’ve always been a big goal setter. Intention feels more human.

    1. Hi Susan,
I always love it when you visit and comment
Yes i struggle with the word and feeling of goals. I like the feel of intention too- hadn’t thought of the human side 🙂
      Hugs

  2. Love this!! I love working with the lunar cycle, it has brought so many blessings into my life. I resonate with the overwhelm the planner brought you, been feeling that way this week. Feels good to know I am not alone 😉 also beautiful painting!!!

  3. What a great idea!!! I do it all in my head–I’m not writing things down except for in my own mind, but I visualize the writing and the results. But the check sounds interesting. I might have to give it a try since it seems you have been doing this for a while now. 🙂

    1. Hi Karo,
I have just started this month with this check, before i had written from an old check book i had
I find I have to get thongs out of my head or it becomes very cluttered and non productive

  4. Thank you for sharing your ritual of going out under the moon with your intentions and a candle and then visualizing them. I think visualizing is so important in manifestation!

  5. Just last night (still a new sliver of a moon) I went out and took photos. My camera wasn’t up to the task to really get what I wanted – or I should say I wasn’t up to it (I’m sure my camera has some settings I don’t know about!). But the act of reaching out to capture the awe and beauty of the moon helped connect me – and that was after a particularly bad day (sort of the anti-intention day…) I have many ways of stating and writing my intentions, but I like some of your creative suggestions. Maybe time to expand the intention wheel.

    1. Hi Judy,
You comment reminds me i need a new camera to take new moon photos- The waxing moon 2 nights after the new moon here was magical. Yes it is amazing how we can draw the energy of the moon to ourself
I like that – expanding the intentions wheel- I am at a point where I feel i need to hone the numbers of spokes i have on a the wheel to maintain focus.
      with love

      .

  6. Suzie, this is a great post! I have an “Intentions Box”. I write my intentions on a piece of paper during the new moon and place them in this beautiful box. Inside the box, I have written, “Whatever is in this box is true!” I have not gone outside to light a candle…that will be next. Thank you for the inspiration!

    1. Hi Deanna,
Wow that sounds great, an intentions box just for the new moon, I have done something like that before, great idea, each month you could add to it.
      thanks for commenting 🙂

  7. Dear Suzie,
I loved this post. It was chock full of so many great ways to use the energy of the new moon.WoW!
I have one of those checks in my wallet from a long time ago……I never thought to use during a full moon. I shall make another one for next month.

I have found over the years of being a 100% commission only financial sales person that when I resist “scheduling” or making sales calls to set up appointments its always about one thing: FEAR of…….rejection, fear of failure, fear of not measuring up,……fill in the blank. What I usually do because I have not choice due to the corporate structure: my fear of getting fired usually wins out and I do it anyway.

Your success is assured as long as you take steps to meet it halfway every day!
With love and hugs to you,
    Angela

    1. Angela how delightful to see you on my page here.
Thanks for your wonderful comment and I think next new moon I will make a check for my wallet too, right now IO have it on the wall by mybedd sop I see it when I wake up and go to sleep.
Thank you for sharing your expereince and your encouraging words, i like that about meeting half way, much better than total negation
      all my love
      Suzie xx

  8. I’ve never used a new moon for meditation Suzie…you’ve got so much great information in this post…I’m going to check out those cheques…they’re gorgeous.

And kudos to you for not allowing your feelings of overwhelm to take over your day. It’s funny how when we choose to experience something other than we are, we do.

    e-hugs
    Elle

    1. Elle that’s great i love how we find new ways to empower, grow and inspire from one another’s sharings and writing.
Yes I was called by a best friend and Des last Friday the master of overwhelm – made an art of it LOL
This week my intention is to focus on one thing at a time until complete
      love
      Suzie xx

  9. I loved reading this post and especially appreciated the way you shared how you moved yourself out of overwhelm. Your ritual, too, felt at once profound and practical – a very doable gift that we can each make our own and give to ourselves. Thanks for sharing your insights and personal rituals – very rich fare!

  10. I love using the moon energy in my meditations and visualisations. If you’re detoxing or fasting it’s easier to do during the new moon time too. I enjoyed reading about the different ways we can use the moon in our lives. One of my meditations for abundance is to see a big bank vault in my name filling up with gold coins and bundles of money. I’ll let you know if it works out!

  11. Hi Suzie,
I have to try your tip with writing the check. We no longer have checks in Germany, but I will figure out something as an alternative – maybe write a payout invoice or similar.. I have bookmarked your website so that I can give you a feedback. Even as I write this feedback I have a very good notion on how things will look like. Thanks for this.
