Do You Know Which Way You Are Going?

How to decide on which way to take……

which-way

This way or that……
The way the looks safe
The way that seems exciting
The way that is daring
Which one will I take
Will I choose the one that is safe
And comfortable
Will I be daring and take a risk
Yes I will
I’ll take the way that will make my heart sing?

Sometime we are faced with so many choices that we can become overwhelmed and get stuck on which way to take. Have you been there? I know I have! It has been a big issue for me this year as I venture down one path only to discover that it still isnt the way that is making my heart sing, or the way  that moves me into joy and or towards freedom.

This tree which was  washed up on the beach last week after a big storm was encrusted with all kinds of shells, fungi – it was a living eco system. It looked like it had been on many adventures since it first was probably washed into a river upstream. Current it is resting waiting for the next big sea to take it on it’s next journey. Sometimes that is what we have to do, we have to rest and reflect before we decide which way to take.  At the time it can be frustrating, it can be a trying, a time to be patient. If you are like me and normally impatient for things to fall into place you may find it hard to take the time to rest and reflect. It’s not a time to try and force things

Over the next weeks I will be sharing some my experiences that I have faced as I have struggled to move forward and find what really does make my heart sing.

I would love for you to share what you do when you are faced with the choice of which way to take…..

  1. I have often faced difficulty in making decisions. It has been hard to wade through 1001 confusing thoughts that can take me in all kinds of direction. About a year or two ago, I decided to make the intent of letting my higher self rule over my ego. I don’t understand all the decisions that I need to make, as a result of this intent. But it sure has been quite an adventure!

    1. Evelyn,
thanks for what you have written and I have a picture of you wading through the 1001 thoughts:)
What you have written about doing it what I know I need to do to be empowered. I like a adventure and I have been being a lit too cautious in the past years or so- time for some adventure and boldness to return

      Love

  2. Great article Suzie. Making choices is getting easier but it hasn’t always been 🙂 I think lots of folk grapple with this as an issue. Knowing when to move and when to rest is really important in my world. I love the feeling you get when you’ve made the right decision. In your flow of things, aware, present, grateful! Thanks again Suzie for the post

  3. Hi Suzie,
I’ve been in so many transitions in my life I think I’ve learned to trust. The other thing I really don’t believe there is a wrong way. My ego hasn’t quite convinced me yet anyway. I have all the faith in the world that you and I are right where we need to be all the time;) xo

    1. Hi Tess,

yes today, I (and even maybe my ego) agree with you. Interesting how you put that- there is no wrong way- yes really it is all a matter of how were perceive things. There was a time when my controlling ego would would have immediately latched onto that’s wrong!!!!!!
yes I am learning to trust, and i love your faith
      hugs

  4. Hi Suzie,

A practice that has really helped me recently was to recall what I naturally chose to do when I was growing up, particularly between 7 to 12 years old. I discovered my natural passion is to teach and to find value in all – people, nature and ‘things’.

I believe all of us have immense value and used to have long discussions with my father about capital punishment and how it robbed the accused of the chance to become a contributing member of society. I realise now that it was my inate sense that we are all one and each one of us, given the opportunity, can be empowered to live out our life’s purpose.

It also led me to realise why it is natural for me to keep things until I find a good home for them – even a used stamp. It is very hard for me to throw anything out that has yet still a use somewhere.

So keep on your journey of discovery. It is so important to be ‘in tune’ so that you too can be at peace with yourself and to live powerfully. For me you naturally have a generous heart and love sharing with others.

    1. Hi Helen,

Thank you for you kind words- yes i do love to share and it does make my heart sign. I like your exercise and interesting that your natural passion is something you did train do do all those years ago and what we both do now has a teaching and guiding role.
I am finally at a point where I feel ready to fly- time for the butterfly to emerge from hiding

  5. Great topic Suzie – and an important one, too.

When I come to an important decision that needs to be made, I step back, look at the facts and then trust my inner wisdom. More times than not, when I follow my gut, things turn out for the best.

    Alex

    1. Amazing how when we learn to trust our gut how live flows- it’s about allowing and trusting. it is also a sign of growth, that’s when wisdom develops.

  6. I usually dread choosing. But then life is all about choices.

I used to being impatient too. But experience have taught me that this is foolish. Now I usually weight the pros and cons before making any decisions.

    1. Hi Alex,
Yes so true life is about choices and we know that dreading will not empower us to make a choice and using will stop us, sounds like you are growing 🙂
