Choice

Yesterday I was writing a blog post for The Change Warrior project  about the current  Change Warrior woman Pam Brossman. I had finished the interview with Pam using what I am now calling The Pam Manifesto: Lifestyle is a Choice,  What Do You Choose? Pam believes we can all live the lifestyle of our choice and her passion is to show others how they can do the same.  (I would recommend you watch the video interview you will be inspired plus get some tips to empower you.)

I then  discovered the wonderful poem as I was finishing reading  reading the book Emotional Balance: The Path to Inner Peace and Harmony by Dr Roy Martina who I interviewed recently. His sister gave him the poem below that comes from an anonymous author.

The Choice is Mine

I choose to live by choice, not chance
I choose to make changes, not excuses
I choose to be motivated, not manipulated
I choose to be useful, not used
I choose self-esteem, not self-pity
I choose to excel,not compete
I choose to listen to the inner voice, not the random opinion of crowds.
The choice is mine and I choose to surrender to the will of the Divine Mind, for in surrendering
I am Victorious.

I Choose

What do you choose?

Live in abundance, be the change and make a difference TODAY!

  1. Hi Suzie,
Yay – here we are in the blog challenge – yipeeeee!
    I love your poem.
I particularly love the line ‘I choose to make changes, not excuses’ – that really resonates with me at present. Last month I was not on track to achieve my goals, was very down and just couldn’t find my motivation. This lasted a couple of days and I realised that I was making excuses.
I really had to pull myself together and get back on track. I managed to do it and achieved more than I ever have on-line ever.
I knew only I could do it and I had to change everything including my perspective.
I knew I had a choice, I just had to find a way to connect with it and take it.
    I’m so glad I did 🙂
I’ll be back to read more.
    Love & best wishes
    Heather xx

  2. Thanks Suzie:

2011 is my year of choice, which means change. 2010 was a struggle “between me with me.” It was a year of great self analysis and I too liked the line:

“I choose to listen to the inner voice, not the random opinion of crowds”

I DO listen to what others say thought, but “I have learned to analyze it. Sometimes I find that what does not work for me now, may at a later date OR not at all! I’m a work in progress, AND I know it and embrace it!

My ONLY regret is that I learned this so late in life!

    Luv & Hugs Suzie.

    1. Hi Rosalind,
Yes that inner voice has so much wisdom and it knows out true path, like you I have been challenged by looking outside too ften and what I have found is that it has limited me in moving forward and claiming my own power.
      luv and hugs
      Suzie

  3. Dear Suzie! Thanks so much for sharing this! Choice is the theme that has been captivating my attention a lot during the past few months. I have been rethinking and re-defining many things, and really getting into the feeling of always HAVING a choice, and it’s been profound for my life. Thanks again for bringing it up! Love, Olga

    1. Hi Olga,
love what you have written, it is amazing how we can structures our lives when we come to accept that we do have a choice. I know sometimes that it is not always easy to always be with the idea as so many people don’t see they have a choice, love you have a category for choice on your blog
      love

  4. I guess all our life is a set of various choices – we make a choice all the time – what to put on, what to say, where to go, what to do, etc.
The poem you presented here is really great. I liked it – especially the following two lines: “I choose to be motivated, not manipulated” and “I choose to listen to the inner voice, not the random opinion of crowds” .
I would be really happy to apply them in real life.

    1. Hi Anna,
Thanks Anna let me know how you do apply them in real life. The inner voice one i really love and know that when I follow it life flows. it is about allowing not controlling
