Reigniting My Creative Spirit: Day 10 of 10 x 10
What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from. ~T. S. Eliot
I started my 10 minutes a day x 10 paintings both as an assignment for Your Big Bold Creativity Life and a way to reignite my creative spirit.
I intended to create some new backgrounds I could use on my website and blog I am currently rebuilding.
I realized that I had only done this on day 3. So when I started painting on Friday ~ day 10, I started without even think about painting a background. I chose acrylics and picked up a fan brush and allowed the brush to go make the patterns on the paper. Starting with the blue.
The process of life is an ever changing scene from day to day from moment to moment. Something doesn’t end but that stage reaches a completion and a new one begins. ~ Suzie Cheel. Opening verse from my book on change Emergings
I then added in purple
Followed by white
Then I added more purple and white. This was a very meditative painting time. Now I have four backgrounds that may appear throughout the site.
How often do you find that you are in this state, where what you think is the ending, is just a doorway to a new journey?
There are opportunities often when we least expect it.These 10 days have opened many doors for me.
Painting today and reflecting on my purpose in starting this 10 x 10 project, has taken me a full circle. I am finding it is a reflective time
So what’s next? I am continuing painting each morning and currently on day 3 of my next painting and I will be sharing on Instagram, Facebook , Pinterest and Twitter and will set up a page here for all my art posts.
There are ripples of change afoot
How do you embrace change?
You can see the whole 10 x 10 project here: Day 1-4. Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8, Day 9. Day 10

While I normally shy away from labels I feel confident considering myself a “change maven” because looking back though my life journey I have rarely gone for a prolonged period of time when I wasn’t involved in some sort of change or transition. Oh, and I love the background images you are creating! One of my current projects is a series of manifestos and your images have provided some great inspiration!

Hi Marty, love change maven 🙂 I too have been there, and feel it is coming again. Thanks the backgrounds were one of my reasons for starting this series and I am collecting lots and going back over previous series to inspire others. So happy to have inspired you

Thank you for sharing Suzie – Sometimes the beginnings and endings aren’t clear until we’re looking back and then we realize how all the dots connected. Your post makes me reflect on how important it is to commit to showing up every day and trusting the process.

One of my favorite “change” quotes is: “When a door closes, a window opens. It’s the hallways in between that can be tough.” Your paintings are wonderful evolving hallways, each contributing to the next beautiful creation.
