Creativity“Creativity is the door that opens my heart and listens to my soul’s whispers” – Suzie Cheel

My creativity has become a daily part of my self-love healing process. My current form of creativity is my intuitive painting. I painted several series since the universe gave me a GIANT wake up call back in July last year. The major one of these was The Intuitive Heart Series where I have painted and drawn 45 hearts and I am now in the process of writing a message to go with each heart. This will become a book and a set of cardsthat you can draw daily inspiration from. Then I created a left handed series after fracturing my humerus in January- another wake up call from the universe 🙂

Last week I created a new Creative Wellness Journal and most days I paint when I first get up, after doing a meditation. I never have a plan, I walk into my studio and allow myself to be drawn to a color and then I am guided to either start with paint or to use watercolor or oil crayons and start with a drawing. I always have my brushes at hand along with many  tools, found objects  I collect. Sometimes I find what I have painted is in sync with something a friend might have written on a blog post or shared on facebook. Below is the cover of my current journal. I usually set an intent to give my journals a cover before I start a new journal. Here I have taken one of my rainbow paintings and over painted the words and added in my photo

Creative Healing Journal

I like having my paintings in one place in the journal rather than individual sheets of paper. these are often scattered around the studio:)   Sometimes I might write and collage the pages, so far I have still been writing in another journal. Writing this gave me the idea to sit with the painting after I have finished it and listen for my soul’s whispers. Who know this maybe another series. 🙂

    1. Hi Ruth,

Thanks for dropping by, your comments are always uplifting and love that you got the fun element- so important i am discovering and is also one of my empowerment needs.

  2. Inspiring post. I’ve wished I could do art journaling, and have even tried in the past, but it’s just not my natural medium, and I inevitably going back to words :-)) But whenever I look at pretty art journals, longing temporarily returns.

    1. Hi Dolly,

Welcome to my blog ♡ I like you Kaizen too

I word journal as well as paint- I almost always journal with words every day and I did paint every day for 21 days a while back. I was inspired to start This Creative Journal as way to maybe have more flow- will let you know how that goes. 🙂

Your comment has also given me an idea- not that I need even one more idea right now!

  3. Ah – so inspiring. Here yet again, art and color are nibbling at the edges of my awareness, beckoning me to experiment. I don’t have any paints or materials – but I do have colored pencils. You’ve got me inspired to bust them out and just play. It’s easy to just turn to all those activities that are more familiar, where I feel more comfortable. But lately I’m getting it – the point is not how perfect or beautiful the creation is, it’s to listen to what your inner self is saying through the colors and the shapes.

    1. Hi Sarah,

You make my heart sing, I just love it when I inspire you to explore your creative side. Just playing is so special, please share when you feel you want to. Being perfect is not at all important- just acknowledge how you feel and as you say liosten to what your inner self is saying.

I am excited to see what transpires for you

I love the idea of sitting and just listening to the painting!
