31 Days of kindnessKindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. – Mark Twain

Alex Blackwell from The Bridgemaker word for the year is  kindness and he now has a goal for March

The goal of the month-long project is to encourage people to perform one act of kindness daily. Hopefully, kindness will become a habit that is sustained beyond the 31 days.

To encourage people to join in Alex asked a group of his blogging friends to make a contribution to his A Manifesto for Making Kindness a Daily Habit which you can download and be inspired by 132 ideas for making kindness a daily habit.

These were my suggestions:

Kindness is that smile that brightens someone’s day
Kindness is being there for a friend who is blue.
Kindness is caring and compassionate.
Kindness is loving.
Kindness is something we sometimes forget to be to ourselves.

What will you do today as part of making kindness a daily habit?

You can download the manifesto here.

  1. Kindness – I guess every person understands it in his own way. For me, kindness is the situation when people say ‘Thank you’ for me, for my usual (!) ordinary (!) behavior.
What I would like to do on a daily basis to practise kindness? Do it and don’t consider is a duty. Do it and don’t wait for people to notice what kind things I have done.
