my Year of Living posiivelyWhen you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. – Marcus Aurelius

My Year of Living Positively: Lucky to be Alive is the title of the book of my healing journey that I am writing this month. Why lucky to be alive I hear you ask? Well these were the words that rang out for me when the specialist said I had “something around me” and my GP said that 5 years ago they would have been finding out what the cause was from an autopsy. until then I had not taken on the severity of my illness– probably a good thing on reflection.

This was not my first near death experience (NDE). At 16 I has been hit by a car and my heart stopped and I was in a coma for a week. The words”You don’t know how lucky you are to be alive“came out of my mother’s mouth more than once over the ensuing years.

I have been on a journey  for the past 18 months and although I know my kidneys have healed, I have yet to get the medical clearance and I have been given a few other challenges to work with over the next 6 – 18 months. mainly from the medication I was on a year ago I have sustained crush fractures in my vertebrae. 6 months is my picture, 18 months the time I have been told if I follow what is quite a rigorous regime the time it will take for my bones to regrow and the osteoporosis to be gone.  On this unexpected journey as you can imagine there have been highs and lows, along with lots of insights into my inner self.

Lots has changed for me over these past eighteen months. There have been obstacles, wins, disappointments, love and joy to mentions just a few emotions that I have experienced. You can see from the photo on the mock=up cover of my book that a year ago I had a different look.  Coping with prednisolone -accepting my moon face I will share in the book along with how I maintained my positive outlook on life, my alkaline diet, what I changed and why, what I gave up, the importance of tapping into my creative self and more. This will not be just another book about positive thinking, it is about what I have been able to achieve and how others can do this too when we take full responsibility for our own gift we have been given including our health and start on the journey to our own abundant and vibrant health.

Now I need your help: I am sure you have question that you would like to ask about my journey to vibrant- well almost, abundant health. Please ask below on the comments or send me an email. I know your question will add to my story and help so many others. I look forward to hearing from you. If you are new I have listed the blog posts below that relate to some of my story.

With gratitude and in abundance always
Namaste

  1. Everyone of us has there own set of heartaches and tragedies. The way you look at life and handle them will determine the person you become . Your an example to the rest of us . Many of us try, you succeed.

    Thankyou John

  2. You are indeed blessed to be alive and kicking today! I am happy to hear you are doing better now. I always get this fear that I might end up with one of those deadly diseases and leave behind my family. Oh! That is scary. But I cannot be caught in such a fear. I need to take care of myself, do my best and always be ready. I always think that having a sense of purpose, being useful to those I have around me makes me feel that inner peace and think that no matter what, I lived my life to the fullest!

  3. Thank you for sharing your healing stories. Like you, I am lucky to be alive and share some of my own healing stories. May you continue to be blessed with good health and a vibrant life!
    Namaste,
    Peggy

  4. Wow, Suzie you really are quite an amazing person and I admire so much that you took total responsibility for your healing and are still on that journey. My question is what is your exercise program to help you build your bones back.? Do you have to be really careful ? I know that is one of the treatments for osteoporosis. Also, did you work with alternative healers, and if so, what kinds?

Keep up the beautiful positive attitude and the wonderful creativity! Lots of love!

    1. Thank you Jean- well your comment and questions will be answered in the book and you have prompted a blog post. Yes i do have to be really careful- which I find very challenging. I am working with an alternative healer who specialised in back pain and now does quantum healing. I will let you know hen the post is up
      Thanks for the great question.
The positive attitude has been so important and the creativity is about to remerge

    1. Thanks Nathalie, you are such an inspiration too. Your comment warms my heart. yes there is always hope and we have the choice, I know now that Had i not chosen the path of hope and trust I might not have been walking on the beach this morning or swimming in the sea. Des just commented this morning how far i have come since i slid down to the beach on my bum as we were walking on the beach we have been going to most Sundays since last August. I love what you wrote- it makes my heart sing and is a wonderful reminder as to why this book must be written, Sending you love and light xxoo

  6. First off Suzie – love the mock up of the book cover! As for a question: how did you find out about the alkaline diet – what does it entail/how difficult has it been to follow? Thx for being such a n inspiration.

    1. Hi Kimberly,
That is great about the cover- I am delighted with the feedback i have got so far. Great question- and i think as well as including it in the book I will make it a blog post- thank you 🙂

  7. So I started to write “I’ve watched this process unfold for the last 18 months … ” And then realized – No … I watched You unfold for the last 18 months … I watched you step up into this journey… Lead the adventure … not be taken hostage by it. I see a beautiful transformation as you reached deep within your soul.

I feel privileged to have been a part of this and to call you my friend! 😀

    Biggest Hugs to YOU!

    1. Wow that almost brought a flood of tears. Yes it has been an unfolding process and still is in someways. I love that . Lead the adventure … not be taken hostage by it. Well look what happened when I allowed myself to be taken hostage- relapse!
Thank you Ellie it has been special to have you there for me over this past 18 months- amazing how time has flown and yes it has been a journey of the soul.
      Namaste

  8. WOW Suzie, you have been on an amazing journey that has brought you through and to some incredible experiences. I honor your persistence to take your health into a higher consciousness and do more than what the medical community was doing. What we go through in life is always a blessing and you have had many.

    1. Hi Diane Marie,

yes it has been many blessings I might not have always seen them at the time and writing the book is a joyful experience and I feel good about sharing this journey. I had to take on my own health regime as fighting against the drugs and medicos caused a relapse 🙂
