JOY#dailywhisperToday’s question  I asked before meditation this morning was…..

What can I do today to be fully aligned?

I meditated and the whisper that came from the cards today was JOY.

“When I am listening to whispers of my heart I’m open to love and joy floods in.”

How do I apply this to the question of being aligned

What does alignment mean?

Alignment from me being in the flow. Truly living my purpose and doing what makes me feel good and has my heart singing.

Each day I wake in joy. This I believe is now a choice i have each day.

Have you checked your joy meter today?

It’s okay as I write this I realise I forgot so I’ll do it now let’s all tap into our current level of joy.

Just close your eyes and put one hand on your heart in one hand on your your belly button, breath in and get a sense, or feeling, you might see or hear a number between 0 and 100 where you’re joy level is today. Mine is at 92.

Until I started doing this daily my level was in the 70s as I do my daily alignment work it has risen to the 90s.

Your Energy Goes Where you Choose To Place Your Attention

I am focused each day on fully stepping into me, so more love and sharing of my message, following and living my mission.

No every day is not perfect but is full of more joy than when I wasn’t following my truth not trusting my heart, and my gut and looking outside for another solution.

Always thinking there was a simpler, better or easier way.

The way I have found to joy is to do the daily work, get aligned to my message and move into each day with joy.

So each day I do the work, that’s the mindset work, focus on my vision, do the journaling, setting clear intentions each morning that make my heart sing and moving forward one step at a time in truth with ease and grace.  Letting go of all the other ways to be and do isn’t easy, there is some real releasing to do each day.

I got this message as I was lying in bed this morning. I have been stopped in my tracks once again.

I have a small fracture of my tibial plateau. I wear a knee brace – except when I am showering and I am on crutches for probably 6 weeks. This wasn’t on my plan!

Sometime the universe gives us signs so we get out of our own way and we get moving This can be what we came here to do. It often is our life purpose.

Have you been hiding my life purpose away?

I know my life purpose is empowerment and I help to open hearts and heal. This too is my story that I have been putting off sharing.

Today I will plan my daily activity to get Lucky To Be Alive written as this will lead to the next stage of my life and my business.

The Universe has now created the space, no more excuses!

This week I had an intuitive brainstorming session with Rach Wilson. I was sharing my new Heart Whisper Journey To Joy program and how that would flow from my Joy Quiz, to my Heart Whisper Oracle Cards to my Readings and my new HeartScape service. When I mentioned to her my book Lucky To Be Alive: How I used the Law of Attraction and the Power of Self Love to Save My Life, she got so excited I wish I’d been able to take a photo. Rach said write the book and there is your program. Your program will be called Save Your Life and you will share the tools you used.

We have to have another person to tell us what is within us. What our heart really knows. I had been wondering why I still had lots of incompletions.

As I lie here in bed today picturing the weeks ahead I’m taking back to just over over a year ago when I was asked what was my biggest dream:

My biggest dream was to have written Lucky To Be Alive,  to be speaking both on and off line to hundreds, make that millions of people around the world who are ready to save their lives by letting go of the struggle, stopping the self sabotage,  the procrastination and stepping onto a path of love, of healing that will bring them to their own knowing that they are enough they are worthy and that the diamond that is within their heart is now ready to shine.

The promise I made back in March this year I now take action on as I write this post.

This book is my story of how I saved my life and now I share my learning, my inspiration, to give hope to others who are ready to save their own lives.

Making My Story A Reality

After a day of feeling a degree of overwhelm, I realised I need to do some fresh prioritising or this book would never be finished

In stepped my beach coach, Des. We were walking on the beach and I was sharing my current lack of progress. Des came up with the plan for me to be accountable on a weekly basis.

There is part of me that doubts  the value of my journey for others. Des reminded me:

You overcame this, if you hadn’t had that positive attitude and total belief that you were going to be healed, it might have overcome you. I said I might still be on dialysis. Des said I might not be here 🙂

That was my wake up moment. I so often forget the seriousness of the kidney failure I had. It takes Des and my freinds to remind me. I often think that what I did was no big thing!

It was very quickly clear to me that completing and publishing my book, Lucky to Be Alive: How I used the Power of Self Love to Safe my Life, had to be high on my list of priorities.

Maybe even the top priority.

I realise that regular readers of this blog might think, “Haven’t we read this before?”, and while I can’t think of a specific blog post to that effect, the reaction would be understandable.

But now I’m putting it out there that this time my commitment is quite serious.

I’m reviewing my plan for completing the writing and scheduling the editing, publication, and marketing elements of the plan.

Being accountable

I’m taking some steps to hold myself accountable to get this done.

One of those steps is to post a weekly update on progress with the book, and I’ll do that even if in my own mind, or in fact, I haven’t made great progress in a specific week.



One idea I am playing with is that in those weekly posts I want to include some excerpts from the book as I’m writing. I’m not sure if that will work, but I want to try it.

Being supported

 

So many people have asked me when the book will be available and some of my friends have urged me to just get on with it! I’m very clear that I will soon be able to share with them and the world a realistic timeframe for that.

A Simple Way To Start Meditating

Today’s post has come in response to a request from Heart Whisperer Kim Stanley Lawyer when I posted the Heart Whisper Daily guidance card  Your Heart Knows yesterday in the Heart Whisper Circle.

So today when I drew the Listen Card  I knew it was time to create a simple meditation  for you and all the Heart Whisperers. Those of you who want to find a simple way to meditate each day that as Kim said:

I think you might want to have a short session about meditation. Show people that this is not an exact science and we all have our own ways to listen to our hearts. No meditation clothing required. The lotus position is not necessary. No guru, no magic, no prizes. I think a great number of people would benefit from an unveiling of how to go to the quiet place in your mind.

Today I have recorded a short meditation for you that I am calling : Allowing Your Heart To Be Calm Your Mind.

What To Do

RELAX 🙂 Get comfy – this can be sitting in a chair, lying in bed (I often meditate before I get out of bed), lying or sitting on the floor, out in nature ( I love to meditate at the beach).

Now click the start button and listen to my voice guide you. This is a 4 minute meditation to calm your mind and allow you to have a way to simply do a short meditation , especially good when you are getting into overwhelm.

21 Healthy Reasons To Eat Chia Seeds Daily

 Chia seeds are a wonderful gift from nature.

I drink a glass of water each morning that has a tablespoon of chia seeds in it that have been soaked over night. I have been doing this for maybe 4 or 5 years. I first came across chia seeds at a Health show and the man selling Australian grown chia seeds told me,  since taking a tablespoon a day he had stopped taking all other supplements as chia is full of so many nutrients. My ears sparked up. Des and I were taking a Glucosamine with Condroitin supplement for our joints.  I bought a large bag of the seeds and started the morning ritual that has continued since.. I went off the supplement straight away and Des about 3 months later. Since then Des has had no knee pain.

 Chia comes from the plant Salvia Hispanica

Chia was first used by the Aztecs as early as 3500 B.C. and was a cash crop in the centre of Mexico between 1500 and 900 B.C.  Chia was harvested in the Valley of Mexico between 2600 and 2000 B.C. by the Teotihuacan and Toltec civilizations and was one of the main components of the Aztec diet.

Pre-Columbian civilizations used chia as a raw material for medicines, nutritional compounds.  Chia was used by the Aztecs as food, mixed with other foods, mixed in water and drunk as a beverage, ground into flour, included in medicines, and pressed for oil.  Chia flour could be stored for many years and could be easily carried on long trips, serving as a high-energy food.  The aztecs also offered chia to the gods during religious ceremonies.

 

21 Healthy Reasons to Add Chia to Your Daily Menu:

  1. Chia contains 20% Omega 3 ALA, making it a super food for the brain and heart. Chia has eight times more Omega 3 than salmon!
  2. Great source of fiber, with 20 grams per 1/4 cup serving.  Good news for your digestive tract!
  3. Chia is Gluten Free
  4. Chia boasts 20% protein and is a  complete protein with all 8 essential amino acids
  5. It is high in antioxidants (It has a four times higher ORAC value than blueberries)
  6. Chia seeds are known to stabilize blood sugar levels
  7. Chia contains seven times more vitamin C than oranges
  8. Chia contains three times more iron than spinach
  9. Chia contains twice the potassium content of banana
  10. Chia is food for healthy skin.
  11. Chia gives glossy hair and stronger nails
  12. Chia is rich in minerals like Calcium, Manganese, and Phosphorus
  13. It has a positive impact balancing blood glucose levels (making it awesome for diabetics)
  14. Chia makes a great egg replacement. Just combine with water to form a gel, and add it to recipes that call for egg. Great alternative for vegans or people sensitive to eggs.
  15. Chia also contain a decent amount of Zinc, Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Potassium, Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) and Vitamin B2.
  16. Chia seeds contain high levels of calcium, together with boron, which is of great benefit to bone health.
  17. Chia seeds help with constipation
  18. Chia seeds can give you more energy
  19. Chia seeds are low in calories
  20. Chia seeds are filling so can be good for weight loss
  21. Chia gel provides hydration and  help retain electrolytes – great for athletes as an energy drink.

How Much Chia each Day.

I have 1 tablespoon most days just in water, I have read where 2 tablespoons are recommended. With chia you must remember to drink lots of water as they bulk up. You can read about side effects here

 How To Use Chia

Chia is tasteless, comes in either black or white seeds, so lends itself to a multitude of recipes. Today I have made  a chia fruit pudding, so easy .

CHIA Pudding Recipe: Serves 4

4 tablespoons of chia seeds

400 mls  (13.5 oz)of Almond Milk. You can substitute this with coconut water or milk or your favourite milk.

1/2 teaspoon of organic vanilla essence, vanilla bean would be better, but I didn’t have any.

1 cup of berries ( I used frozen raspberries and  fresh strawberries)

1/2 a cup of organic shredded coconut

Cinnamon

 

Add the chia seeds, the milk, the fruit, the vanilla into into a bowl and mix. Then add in the shredded coconut and stir, sprinkle with cinnamon.

Place a piece of cling wrap over the bowl and allow it to set in the fridge for 3 hours or more.

When it is ready take out of the bowl and spoon onto serving bowls. You can top with coconut yoghurt, nuts, key you imagination run wild.  I was thinking a raspberry coulis would be yummy.

After researching chia seeds I now have many new ways to use them that I  will share in another article.

After many people asking my about my alkaline eating regime and when was the recipe book coming I have decided to add in a Heal Your Body or Healthy Life category, with more recipes.

Putting the words and thoughts into action

After what has been a very success Heart Whisper Gratitude Challenge  I had great plans to look start a new Heart Weekly Whisper Wednesday video series. This would be part of Suzie Tv and I will share my Heart Whisper stories and answer any questions you may have. I did rest and relax last weekend as I had forgotten the demands that 31 days of blogging takes.

Then comes Monday and as the saying goes “The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray – Robert Burns  Yes my plans went totally astray. If you receive my Weekly Heart Whisper you will have read the story:  I went to post a parcel and go to Magic Monday ( Our health food store has an awesome 20% discount on the first Monday of the month). As I was walking back to finish some shopping I found myself falling and the next thing I knew I was flat on the hard tiles floor shopping bags neatly landing. (Amazing I had a large jar of Organic Coconut Oil and it did not smash!)c I was in shock and a quick check at my local doctor showed no broken bones, that was great news. The last time I had a fall I had a fractured humorous! 

I felt okay and continued shopping before returning home to put ice on the damaged knee. I chatted to a friend on skype and thought I would be okay. Not so, by mid afternoon I couldn’t walk. More ice, REST, lots of love and gratitude and bed for the next day or so.  It is now healing and I can only feel a little twinge. I am walking again and I am so full of gratitude and love.

Following on from the Gratitude Challenge I have continued to do my daily gratitude, my card reading and next week I will be sharing them daily on my Facebook Page .
Part of the inspiration for today’s post came from reading a story  by Emmett E Miller MD, Gratitude: A Healing Attitude in  Louise Hay and Friends, GRATITUDE A Way of Life.  Emmett shared his experiences with patients. Over 20 years of medical practice he says grateful people heal faster and are happier.  He says:
A sense of gratitude empowers us to choose wisely….how we feel, what we say, what we believe and what we do. Gratitude leads us to see what is available, what we can develop. After all, there is nothing to work with in the empty part of the glass. Without the attitude of gratitude, there results a feeling of deprivation.
The state of mind  that we call gratitude is not inborn in my opinion, but something we learn. gratitude as to do with feeling full, complete, adequate – we have everything we need and deserve; we approach the world with a sense of value. it is the experience of the range of fulfilment that is possible that leads to a capacity for gratitude. Without gratitude, the tendency is to feel incomplete, cheated, deficient – in a word helpless.
There are many other powerful stories in the book. they inspired me to focus on being grateful to speed up my healing process.
I am  Grateful for…………
  • I am grateful that I have no broken bones, this means my heal my bones regime is working as I was told 2 years ago that I had osteoporosis, caused by predisolone. I have been on a a bone healing and regrowing journey for the past 2 years. I was told that it took two years to regrow bones
  • I am grateful for shopping centre management and the care they took and to the two women who stayed with me
  • I am grateful for our health system and the miracle that I only had to wait 30 minutes to see my own doctor
  • I am grateful to me for letting go and having the sense and patience to rest and heal. I have lots of practice, seems not quite enough
  • I am grateful for all the love, prayers and healing that was sent from all my online friends- you are awesome
  • I am grateful to family who called to see how I was going and offer advice.
  • I am grateful to Des for his continued love and care for me and the yummy meals he cooked and for taking me with chair to Rainbow Bay beach to be in the sun.

  • I am grateful for the healing power of ice
  • I am grateful that my knee did not bruise, I think the bones might be 🙂
  • I am grateful that I have been kind to me and released any anxiety about what did not get done
  • I am grateful for my alkaline lifestyle and all the wonderful fresh food i eat each day, it heals

Today’s Card:  I was guided to change decks today to The Archangel Oracle cards and when I drew  Gifts From God I thought what a wonderful follow on from yesterday. Maybe we still have some work to do on receiving and asking for help. 🙂  I know do.

One of Archangel Sandalphon’s roles is to deliver and answer our prayers and he assures us that every prayer is heard and answered. Call on him when you need help in allowing yourself to receive. Today’s Activity: Using Reiki

Today’s post  was inspired by my friend Heather’s facebook post, in that  I was reminded of the Reiki prayer. It reminded me that I had not been using my reiki channeling for many, many months. This is the third sign I have received in the past 3 weeks. I originally learned Reiki I and II I believe to help heal Des from a skin challenge he had back in 2005. I also used it for my own healing journey

Reiki.org defines reiki as: “A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It’s administered by laying on hands and can be easily learned by anyone.”

This video Learn Reiki in Ten Minutes explains very simply what reiki is and gives a great introduction, plus teaches you simply how you can bring reiki energy into your life today. I like how Randolph Shipon says the feeling of gratitude to be the foundation of reiki.

  • Write down five things you are grateful for today- maybe focus on being grateful for times in your life that have had you walking a different path
    Count your blessings one by one as you started to on Day 6. 
  • Use Hoʻoponopono if you need to relax, center yourself  or to be forgiving of you.
  • Breathe in Love Breathe out gratitude from Day 16
  • Still using your gratitude rock?  I was reading today the Lee Bower  suggest you use your gratitude rock daily: Say  the phrase: Everyday I choose to be in an attitude of gratitude. I get to chose how each day begins and receive the positive energy that accompanies my awesomeness of and gratitude for  all of the many blessings in my life
  • Make an affirmation card that sits on your desk, computer or use an app on your phone . I have used heart shaped post-its and this sits on my computer. I often use words  from Louise Hay’s  Your Can Heal Your life Affirmation kit.
  • Record the abundance you notice each day in your journal
  • Now celebrate when you notice abundance, celebrate the evidence of it in you life. Do a happy dance, say: Look what I attracted to me! Do this every day for the next 7 days and share any ahas in the comments

Chocolate, even organic dark chocolate which is alkaline is not on my eating horizons. It has caffeine, which is not good for my bones.  Carob is okay, just doesn’t have the yumminess of dark chocolate.

Yesterday was Des’s birthday so as a treat I decided to make him some treats. I have made these once before. I shared a picture on Facebook and was asked to share the recipe.

Ingredients

cocnut oil cacao

I used a heart shaped silicon ice-cube tray I bought from Ikea years ago. This is great as the chocolate doesn’t stick

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 cup Organic Cocoa Powder (raw cocoa powder is preferred)
  • 1 Tbsp Organic agave or honey
  • I added a tablespoon of dessicated coconut

You can add a variety of ingredients: I added raspberries, organic raisins and freshly shelled macadamias. You could add maca powder, orange rind, ginger, nuts, seeds and sultanas.  I am sure you can think of other tasty morsels you can add.

I put these into the tray before pouring in the mixture

Melt the coconut oil and add the argave or honey. Whisk and add the cocoa powder. Whisk occasionally while pouring into the silicone ice cube tray. Makes 14.  Cool for 30 minutes in the fridge or freezer.

Then turn them out and enjoy.  One at a siting as they are very rich.

I had the joy last week of speaking with former leading cardiac surgeon Dr. Ismael Nuño about his book, The Spirit of the Heart: Stories of Family, Hope, Loss, and Healing, his life as a surgeon and his life today.

The Spirit of the Heart: Stories of Family, Hope, Loss, and Healing  is a collection of heart-warming stories that resonate at the core of our humanness. Fixing “broken” hearts gave Dr. Nuño a unique and intimate view into the power of the heart. Over the years he learned that even while coming face to face with death and losing patients, there is a beauty that can exist, even in loss. Dr. Nuño graciously offers the insights he has gained from occupying a front-row seat at some of life’s most real and raw moments. Part memoir, part self-help – these tender stories teach us about what it means to be human, to be connected to others, to love, to live, to forgive.- from the book.

The death of his daughter Catherine at 18 years of age was the inspiration for the book.

” I wrote the book The Spirit of the Heart to put on paper the journey of humans that travel through the farewell of another human being, of a  loved one.  I wanted to leave a legacy of love, tenderness and a record that once a beautiful young girl walked amongst us.”

When I first started to read this book I thought it was going to be a “bit medical” for me. What I found was a man who I discovered at 5 years of age had decided he was going to fix hearts. The stories in this book show true compassion, a total dedication to his profession and lots of spirit. There is joy, triumph and humor, along with sadness, loss and healing. The 41 stories are short and inspiring and stand alone.

Ismael is a doctor who pushed the boundaries and his surgical technique changed one day after he went to the movies and saw the film “The Doctor” with William Hurt. He saw Hurt pushing the envelope and thought I can do that. He then tried some of the “wild” things he had seen on the screen and he changed his methods. Today he advises the script writers at ABC Studios Hollywood on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy.

This is a book that will possibly raise many questions, it will inspire, give you moments of sadness, others of pure joy. You will get an insight into a very passionate human being who before he even knew what a heart was decided he was going to fix hearts. Ismael Nuño has made a difference in his life and the lives of others and from talking with him and reading on his website he is still creating ripples of change.

He is a Change Warrior and may have inspired the revival of this series. 

Dr. Nuño was born in Mexico. He obtained his MD in 1976. He received training in General Surgery and subsequently in Cardio-Thoracic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Nuño was in the US Army for a period of ten years. He was Deputy Commander for 5th MASH during the Gulf War. The last 15 years of his career were as Chief of Cardiac Surgery at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.He is now retired and lives in Marina del Rey, California./

How To Make Organic Coconut Yoghurt

EASY Coconut Yogurt Recipe

I love coconut yogurt, so when I was told back in July 2012 that coconut yogurt would be better for my bones I started to make it and now eat it every day.

The video shows you step by step how to make the coconut yoghurt. It is simple and easy. Lets have some fun. Video is 5 mins and there is a transcript below.

The recipe: 
kefir 1 sachet of Kefir starter.( or a spoonful of start from a friend who already makes the coconut yogurt.
2 cans Of Organic Coconut Cream
1 glass Jar ( Litre/ 2 pints)
Stirring spoon- wooden or plastic preferably
Piece of mesh or gauze cut to the size that will comfortably cover the mouth of the jar and 1 elastic band or stretch mesh bag. Open the sachet and pour into the jar, then pour in the coconut cream from the 2 cans and mix well.  Now take the mesh and cover the mouth of the jar and leave on you kitchen bench for 24 hours. Then remove the mesh and screw the lid on. Now put it in your refrigerator for 12 hours before you use it.

Ways you can use coconut yogurt.

  • Yummy by the spoonful as a snack
  • Topping for fruit- use instead of cream, icecream and any other topping you might use.
  • Add to smoothies, curries, soups, baking recipes………

Today I am going to show you how to make yummy organic coconut yoghurt with a simple quick recipe.

Why coconut yoghurt? firstly it tastes delicious, it is 100% natural … 100% dairy free … 100% gluten free and full of lots of goodies for your body too- probiotics

This is a jar I made. I have been making my yoghurt with the same culture I was given back in July 2012, by my friend Tahlia. At that time i was still eating yummy greek yoghurt. I was told that even this yoghurt was not good for my bones.

So I took home my small jar of coconut yoghurt and went to supermarket and bought 2 x 400 ml cans (14 ounces) of organic coconut cream- you can get low fat too. I have tried both and the low fat makes a thinner yoghurt

Last week I shared my alkaline breakfast on facebook and several friends asked how i made it so here is what you need to get started:

A one litre glass jar ( 32 oz ) or you could use 2 500ml/ 16 oz jars which is what I have been doing.

If you don’t have a friend who makes organic coconut yoghurt you will need to purchase a probiotic starter called Kefir. I bought this in my health food shop cost was $9 aud and there are 5 sachets in a pack.

If you follow the instructions on the pack it says you can use this first batch up to 5 times making 5 liters of yoghurt. This is the first time I have bought Kefir- I have been remaking my organic coconut yoghurt from the original starter each week.The instructions say 5 sachets make 25L.

So what do you do

Stir contents of 1x Kefir sachet into 2 cans of coconut cream. Leave for 24h at 20C on the kitchen bench and I cover it with mesh. I then place in fridge for 12h.

Voila, you have yummy coconut yoghurt that you can use on your quinoa porridge, as a substitute for any dairy topping and your inner health will love you too. Are You Celebrating Your Life Today?

I Am So Happy I Am Alive!

July 16th was a special day for me. It was the day last year that I found myself in hospital with a kidney failure. This was an out of the blue event and quite scary as I had almost, well really no kidney function, I could have died. I apparently was told by the renal specialist on that morning that only 25% of people recover from what was then labelled Glomerulonephritis and has since been given the wonderful label of Anca Negative Vasculitis.  Des told me I said well I’ll be one of the 25% and then put my focus on meditating my way to health and getting home. As well as using the law of attraction. One year on my life has changed and so have I:

  • I have become a very patient person, patience was not one of my virtues!
  • I have  changed my diet and now eat a high alkaline diet (80/20) a side benefit of this has been a 10 kilo ( 22 pounds) loss
  • I have to ask for help- this has not been an easy  for independent Suzie.
  • I am a softer person- so my friends tell me
  • I live so much more from my heart
  • I know love is such a powerful healing force
  • I trust my intuition so much more
  • I know I can heal my body
  • I am so much more accepting

My blood tests last week showed  my kidney function was at 81 on GFR . Back in August last year I been told by the specialist that the best I could hope for was 69. I believe that  my kidneys are healed and I feel so blessed that I did not need ongoing dialysis much less a transplant and that I am alive.

So on 16th July thus year I spent the day celebrating  being alive. I have Joy Holland from Facets of Joy to thank for asking me, when we were talking on Skype last Saturday, how was I going to celebrate. I hadn’t thought of celebrating this milestone. I said to Joy that  the sun shining would make my day. We had had a week or more of rain and I was missing my beach walk and my daily Vitamin D hit. So this is how did I celebrate:

  • I manifested the sun and went walking on the beach first thing in the morning,
  • after a sleep in,
  • a meditation and journaling
  • I drew the Energy Healing Card from Doreen Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards
  • I started a new journal
  • I talked with friends in USA on skype,
  • I spent time  in the sun reading A Seed of Love by Cheryl Lee Harnish
  • I had an afternoon nap
  • I painted a new cover for a journal I started that day
  • I had yummy fresh juice with barley and maca powder (good for my bones)
  • I had a healthy and very tasty baked vegetable dinner
